Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450
Starts at INR 2,56,387 ex-showroom and goes up to INR 2,72,479.
What this motorcycle is?
The Guerrilla 450 is a modern-retro roadster based on the Himalayan 450 platform. It’s powered by the same 452cc liquid-cooled, short-stroke engine with DOHC and a 4-valve head, churning out 40 PS of power at 8,000 RPM and 40 NM of torque at 5,500 RPM. The chassis is carried-over as well but modified for a more dynamic and sportier handling characteristics.
There are some highlighting differences in the suspension as well. First, there are traditional 43mm telescopic forks at the front instead of the Showa upside-down forks in the Himalayan. And though the rear has mechanically the same link-type horizontally-mounted shocker, wheel travel at both ends has reduced (as it should) to 140mm at the front and 150mm at the back. The stock seat height is quite low at 780mm and the wet weight is down to 184 kg compared to Himalayan 450’s 196 kg.
Though the bike rides on 17-inch wheels, the rider ergonomic (or the sitting posture) is similar to the one on a Ducati Scrambler Icon. The Guerrilla shares its tail section with the Himalayan 450 which again looks inspired by Ducati Scrambler’s tail end. With a round LED headlight and a flat, yet, muscular fuel tank, the Guerrilla 450 exudes a unique and fresh design in the segment.
Does the Guerrilla 450 has any rivals?
The Guerrilla 450 competes directly with the Triumph Speed 400. Both motorcycles are modern-retro roadsters and while the Guerrilla has its own fresh styling, the Speed 400 is based on Triumph’s Bonneville Street Twin design language.
